How to Use LM Podcast: Record, Clean Up, and Export a Finished MP3
Create the show, record on a phone or laptop, take timestamped notes, trim, shorten long silences, add intro and outro audio, add artwork and metadata, then export MP3.
Built for Pastors, authors, coaches, leaders, businesses, interviewers, and creators.
You will have one spoken-word project that keeps the recording, notes, simple edits, show identity, metadata, and export together.
Before you start
LM Podcast is designed for practical spoken-word production rather than full multitrack music mixing. Working audio stays in device-local LMOS storage, so the editing workflow does not depend on a cloud-file path. Create the project, define the show, then follow the record-to-export path.
Step 1: Set up the show identity
Add the show name, audience, promise, description, author, category, and format so the project knows what kind of program you are making.
Step 2: Prepare the episode
Keep the script, outline, or run sheet visible and add any links or notes you want available during recording.
Step 3: Record and take live notes
Use the phone or laptop microphone workflow, pause when needed, and capture timestamped notes while the conversation is fresh.
Step 4: Clean the obvious rough edges
Trim the beginning and end and shorten overly long silences where that improves pacing without making natural speech sound robotic.
Step 5: Add the show package
Attach reusable intro, outro, or bumper audio when appropriate, then add episode artwork and metadata such as title, author, guests, description, tags, genre, and year.
Step 6: Export and inspect the MP3
Choose the available output quality, export the MP3, and open it in another player to confirm the audio, title, artwork, and metadata are what you intended.
Make the workflow better
Record in the quietest practical room before trying to fix sound later.
Take notes during the recording when a follow-up or edit point occurs.
Do not over-process natural pauses.
Check the exported file outside LM before publishing anywhere.
Questions people ask
Can LM Podcast export MP3 files?
Yes. The current beta can export MP3 files locally. For public podcast/RSS publishing, host the finished MP3 on your podcast host or CDN and give LM the public HTTPS audio URL; LM stores the reference rather than another audio copy.
Is LM Podcast a full DAW?
No. It is intentionally focused on a simpler podcast workflow: record, note, trim, shorten silences, add show assets, tag metadata, and export.
