Welcome to the start of a journey that I believe has the power to change not just how you work, but how you live. We are officially opening the doors to Faithful Leadership, a project born out of a deep conviction that the marketplace is one of the most vital mission fields on the planet. For too long, many of us have lived divided lives. We have our "Sunday self": the person who worships, prays, and listens to the Word: and our "Monday self": the person who navigates spreadsheets, manages teams, and hits quarterly targets. We’ve been told that faith is private and business is professional, and that the two should rarely meet unless it's in a quiet prayer before a big meeting. But what if the marketplace wasn't just a place to earn a paycheck? What if it was a sanctuary? What if your leadership wasn't just about "getting things done," but about "bringing the Kingdom down"? This book, Faithful Leadership: Transforming Business Through Christian Values, is a roadmap for every leader, executive, entrepreneur, and professional who is tired of the divide. It’s for the one who wants to lead with integrity in a world that often rewards shortcuts. It’s for the leader who wants to see their team thrive, not just produce. And ultimately, it’s for the follower of Christ who realizes that their office, their shop, or their boardroom is a "divinely appointed" space for the glory of God. The Project Mission: Reclaiming the Marketplace The mission of Faithful Leadership is simple but radical: to equip you to lead with a Christ-centered heart while achieving excellence in the corporate world. We aren’t interested in "business as usual" with a thin veneer of Christianity. We are looking for a deep-rooted transformation that starts in the heart of the leader and flows out into the culture of the company. In the Assemblies of God tradition, we often talk about the "Priesthood of all Believers." This isn't just a theological catchphrase; it’s a lifestyle. It means that you don't need a collar or a pulpit to be a minister. If you are Spirit-filled and following Jesus, you are a minister exactly where you are. Your mission field is the breakroom. Your congregation is your staff. Your liturgy is the way you handle a contract dispute or a difficult performance review. Through this series, we will explore how to align your business practices with biblical truth. We will look at what it means to lead with compassion, how to cultivate a culture of trust, and how to rely on the Holy Spirit for the "wisdom that surpasses understanding" when making high-stakes decisions. Dedication: To the Monday-Morning Ministers This book is dedicated to the men and women who wake up on Monday morning with a sense of calling that doesn't end at the church doors. To the CEO who is fighting to keep their company ethical in a cutthroat industry: You are seen.
To the middle manager who is trying to be a light in a toxic office culture: You are heard.
To the small business owner who prays over their inventory and their employees' families: You are valued. You are the front lines of the Kingdom. While the pastor reaches the congregation on Sunday, you reach the world for the other six days of the week. You touch lives that may never step foot inside a church building, but they see the Gospel in your honesty, your kindness, and your excellence. This book is for you. It’s designed to be your companion, your mentor, and your encouragement as you navigate the complexities of modern leadership. Author’s Notes: A Journey of Faith and Finance As I sit down to write these notes, I find myself looking back at the two decades I spent in the media industry and the fifteen years I’ve spent in pastoral ministry. My path hasn't been a straight line, but it has been a consistent one. Whether I was working on a film set, navigating a corporate boardroom, or leading a congregation, the core question has always been the same: How does Jesus change this? I remember a specific moment early in my career. I was faced with a decision that would have significantly increased our profit margin but would have required "stretching the truth" with a client. The "business logic" was clear: everyone does it, it’s a grey area, and the results would speak for themselves. But the "Kingdom logic" was even clearer: "The Lord detests dishonest scales, but accurate weights find favor with him" (Proverbs 11:1). I chose the harder path, and it cost us that contract in the short term. But years later, that same client came back to us because they knew they could trust us. That experience taught me that "Faithful Leadership" isn't a strategy for easy wins; it’s a commitment to eternal principles that build a foundation no market crash can destroy. With a Ph.D. in Administration and Communications, I love the data. I love the systems. I love the psychology of leadership. But as a follower of Christ, I know that data without discernment is hollow. My goal in writing this book was to bridge the gap: to provide high-level, professional leadership insights that are fully submitted to the authority of Scripture and the power of the Holy Spirit. The Theological Foundation: A Spirit-Empowered Workplace To understand Faithful Leadership, we have to understand the theology that anchors it. Grounded in Assemblies of God values, we believe that the Holy Spirit is not just for "spiritual moments," but for "every moment." 1. The Divine Appointment of Work We believe that work is not a result of the Fall. In the Garden of Eden, before sin ever entered the world, God gave humanity work to do. Work is part of our design. It is one of the primary ways we reflect the image of God: the Creator who worked for six days and saw that it was good. When you lead well, you are participating in God’s ongoing work of creation and order. 2. Leadership as Stewardship In the AG tradition, leadership is never about personal power; it’s about stewardship. We are "divinely called" to serve those we lead. A faithful leader asks, "How can I steward the talents, the time, and the well-being of the people God has placed under my care?" This shifts the focus from control to contribution. We lead so that others can grow. 3. The Power to Witness Acts 1:8 tells us we will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes upon us to be "witnesses." We often think of this as preaching on a street corner, but in the marketplace, "witness" looks like excellence. It looks like a leader who remains calm in a crisis because they have an anchor. It looks like an entrepreneur who treats their competitors with respect. This "Spirit-empowered" witness is what opens the door for conversations about faith. 4. Integrity and Sanctification Sanctification is the process of becoming more like Christ. In business, this is where the rubber meets the road. It means our "private integrity" must match our "public performance." If we are greedy, manipulative, or harsh in the boardroom, our "Sunday worship" rings hollow. Faithful Leadership calls us to a standard of holiness that is visible in our contracts, our emails, and our interactions with the "least of these" in our organizations. Practical Application: The Four Pillars of Faithful Leadership Throughout the upcoming chapters of this book, we will dive deep into what I call the Four Pillars of Faithful Leadership. These aren't just theories; they are actionable frameworks for your daily grind. Marketplace Evangelism: Learning how to share your faith through your character and your words without being coercive or unprofessional. It’s about being "salt and light" in a way that makes people thirsty for the Truth. Corporate Worship: Understanding that the way you run your business is an act of worship. When you do your work heartily as unto the Lord, your business becomes a living sacrifice. Team Discipleship: Seeing your role as a mentor who builds character, not just skills. How do you help your employees become the best versions of themselves, both professionally and spiritually? Community Compassion: Moving beyond profit to impact. How does your leadership serve the vulnerable? How does your company reflect the heart of Jesus for the "widow and the orphan" in your local community? We will explore real-world stories of CEOs who have transformed their companies by applying these principles: leaders who have seen productivity soar as trust increased, and leaders who have found peace in the middle of economic storms because their hope was anchored in Christ. Epilogue: The Vision for the Future As we begin this series, my prayer is that you would catch a vision for a new kind of corporate America: one where integrity is more valuable than insider trading, where people are more important than pixels, and where the presence of God is welcomed into the professional sphere. Imagine a world where Christian leaders are known as the most trustworthy, the most innovative, and the most compassionate people in every industry. Imagine a world where the "Light of the World" isn't hidden under a bushel of corporate jargon, but shines brightly through the excellence of our work. That journey starts now. It starts with a single decision to say, "Lord, my career is Yours. My leadership is Yours. Teach me how to lead like You." Join me as we walk through these twenty chapters together. Let’s redefine what it means to be a leader. Let’s build something that lasts for eternity.
