That wasn’t just about marriage—it was about life. We were made for connection, accountability, and mutual encouragement. Scripture Foundation “They devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and to fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer.” — Acts 2:42 (NIV) The early church didn’t just attend the same events—they shared life. Why Community Matters Protection — Others can see dangers you might miss. Encouragement — We need people to speak life into us. Growth — Iron sharpens iron (Proverbs 27:17). The Loneliness Epidemic A 2023 Barna study revealed more than half of U.S. adults feel lonely at least once a week . Even in churches, isolation is real. True community takes intentionality. A Personal Story I once went through a season of ministry burnout. My instinct was to pull away—but the small group I was in didn’t let me disappear. They showed up with food, prayers, and laughter. They carried me until I could walk again. Practical Ways to Find Christian Community Join a small group or Bible study. Serve on a ministry team. Be consistent—relationships grow over time.
