5 Things That Happened Today That Remind Us God Is Still Moving

It's easy to scroll through the news and feel like the world is running on chaos. But if you slow down and look closer, you'll see something different. Today: Thursday, February 19, 2026: there are quiet reminders that God is still at work in the everyday moments of people's lives.

Here are five things happening right now that point to His presence.

1. Kids With Disabilities Got to Live Their Baseball Dreams

In Pittsburgh today, the Pirates Charities held their annual Fantasy Camp. But this wasn't just for adults chasing nostalgia. Participants from the Miracle League and Baseball Fantasy Camp for Kids joined in: kids who live with disabilities that often keep them off traditional playing fields.

These camps create space for children who are usually sidelined. They get to swing bats, run bases, and feel like part of a team. Volunteers and coaches show up not because they have to, but because they want to. They give time, encouragement, and dignity to kids who deserve all three.

The Lens

Jesus didn't just preach about the Kingdom: He made room at the table for those the world overlooked. In Mark 10, when the disciples tried to push children away, Jesus stopped them and said, "Let the little children come to me." He didn't see them as interruptions. He saw them as belonging.

When adults create spaces where every child: regardless of ability: can play, laugh, and be celebrated, they're reflecting that same heart. It's not charity for a photo op. It's kingdom work in cleats.

2. A Community Is Gathering Tonight to Fund Education

Over in Birmingham, Alabama, the Night of Miracles Gala is happening this evening at The Club, Inc. The event includes live entertainment, but the real goal is raising funds for Miracle Academy PCS: a school committed to serving students who need it most.

Education changes lives. It opens doors. It builds futures. And when a community rallies together to make sure kids have access to learning, it's more than a fundraiser. It's an act of hope.

The Lens

Proverbs 22:6 says, "Train up a child in the way he should go; even when he is old he will not depart from it." Investing in a child's education is investing in their future: and in the future of the community they'll one day lead.

Tonight, people will dress up, enjoy a meal, and write checks. But underneath it all, they're saying, "We believe these kids matter. We believe their futures are worth fighting for." That's the kind of faith that moves mountains: or at least moves the needle on opportunity.

3. People Are Gathering Online to Seek Healing and Peace

This afternoon, a group is meeting virtually for a "Deep Dive into Possible Miracles": a meditation and healing workshop running from 4:30 PM to 6:00 PM Pacific time. People from different places and different stories are logging in to seek peace, healing, and hope.

In a world that glorifies hustle and noise, there's something countercultural about pausing. About asking for help. About admitting you need healing and being willing to show up for it.

The Lens

Jesus often withdrew to quiet places to pray (Luke 5:16). He understood that spiritual health requires intentionality. While meditation practices vary, the desire to seek peace and healing is deeply human: and deeply spiritual.

When people stop running long enough to ask, "God, where are You in my pain? What do I need to heal?": that's sacred ground. Not every path looks the same, but the hunger for wholeness? That's universal. And God meets people there.

4. Strangers Are Serving Strangers Today

You won't see this one in a press release, but it's happening right now in a thousand small ways across the country. Someone's buying groceries for the person behind them in line. A neighbor is shoveling an elderly couple's driveway without being asked. A nurse is staying late to sit with a patient who has no visitors.

These aren't headline moments. But they're holy ones.

The Lens

Hebrews 13:2 reminds us, "Do not neglect to show hospitality to strangers, for by doing so some have entertained angels without knowing it." Kindness doesn't always come with a name tag or a tax receipt. Sometimes it's just one person seeing another person's need and deciding to meet it.

God doesn't just move through miracles that make the news. He moves through the mechanic who waives a labor fee for a single mom. The teacher who stays after school to help a struggling student. The stranger who smiles at you in the coffee shop when you feel invisible.

Those moments aren't random. They're evidence of a God who works through willing hands.

5. You're Still Here: And That Matters

Maybe today has been hard. Maybe you woke up tired, discouraged, or wondering if anything you do makes a difference. But here's the truth: you made it to today. You're reading this. Your lungs are pulling in air, your heart is beating, and that means your story isn't over.

God isn't finished with you yet.

The Lens

Lamentations 3:22-23 says, "The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases; his mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning; great is your faithfulness." Every sunrise is a reset. Every breath is a gift. And every day you're here is another chance for God to work in you and through you.

You may not feel like a miracle today. But you are one. Your presence in the world matters. The people who love you would tell you the same thing if you asked them.

The Invitation

So what do we do with all this?

We remember. We look for God in the everyday. We celebrate the small wins, the quiet acts of love, and the ways people show up for each other when no one's watching.

And we keep going.

Because if God is still moving in baseball camps and galas, in online prayer circles and grocery store aisles, in tired hearts that refuse to quit: then He's moving in your life too.

You just have to pay attention.
