After the devastating twin earthquakes on June 24 (magnitudes 7.2 and 7.5) that claimed over 3,600 lives, Tsunami and his handler from the K-SAR ECID rescue unit worked tirelessly in the rubble. Using his extraordinary sense of smell, Tsunami helped locate and save at least 13 trapped survivors — including a 60-year-old man who had been buried for six days.
