By The McReport Jackie Coombe officially adopted her former 11-year-old student, Jaden, after first meeting him as a substitute teacher and later learning he had spent years in foster care. After a long legal and relational process, the adoption was finalized in June 2026. She has stepped back from full-time teaching to focus on helping him adjust, heal, and grow.
