Book: Miracle Mindset: Chapter 20: A Life of Miracles

Imagine waking up every morning, not just hoping for a normal day, but expecting heaven to touch earth through your life. Imagine praying for someone in the grocery store aisle and watching their pain disappear. Imagine opening your mailbox and finding a check you didn’t expect, or receiving a phone call that answers a prayer you had almost forgotten you even prayed.

This isn’t fantasy. This isn’t a spiritual "fairy tale" reserved for the pages of history or the elite "super-saints" of the first century. This is the birthright of every believer. As we reach the conclusion of our journey through Miracle Mindset, we must come to a profound realization: a miracle is not just something God does; it is the environment in which the believer is meant to live.

The Mark of the Believer

In the final chapter of the Gospel of Mark, Jesus gives us a blueprint for the normal Christian life. It’s a blueprint that often makes us uncomfortable because it challenges our reliance on the natural and demands our immersion in the supernatural.

"And these signs will accompany those who believe: In My name they will drive out demons; they will speak in new tongues; they will pick up snakes with their hands; and when they drink deadly poison, it will not hurt them at all; they will place their hands on sick people, and they will get well." (Mark 16:17-18)

Notice the language Jesus uses. He doesn't say these signs will follow the apostles only. He doesn't say they will follow the "ordained" or those with a Ph.D. in theology. He says these signs will follow those who believe.

If you are a believer, you are qualified. You have been drafted into a kingdom where the impossible is common and the supernatural is standard. Living a life of miracles means shifting your internal GPS from "How can I make this work?" to "How is God moving in this?" It is a fundamental shift in identity. You are no longer a victim of your circumstances; you are a carrier of the Presence that changes circumstances.

Beyond the One-Time Event

For many Christians, a miracle is viewed as a "one-off" event: a divine emergency intervention. We treat God like a cosmic 911 dispatcher. We call when the car breaks down, when the doctor gives a bad report, or when the bank account hits zero. While God is faithful in those moments, He is calling us to something much deeper: a Miracle Mindset.

A miracle mindset is a way of living, not just a way of reacting. It is the steady, quiet confidence that God is your Source (Chapter 2), that you can think like Caleb in a land of giants (Chapter 3), and that you are walking in divine favor even when the world says otherwise (Chapter 18).

When you adopt this lifestyle, you begin to see God's hand in the "small" things. You see the divine appointment in the delayed flight. You see the provision in the unexpected discount. You see the healing in the restored relationship. You realize that your life is a tapestry of supernatural threads, woven together by a Father who delights in surprising His children.

Breaking the Scarcity Vow

One of the greatest barriers to a life of miracles is the "vow of scarcity." This is the subtle, often subconscious belief that there isn't enough: not enough money, not enough time, not enough grace, and certainly not enough of God's power to go around.

Scarcity tells you to hoard. Scarcity tells you to play it safe. Scarcity tells you that if someone else gets a miracle, there’s one less available for you.

But the Kingdom of God operates on the Law of Multiplication (Chapter 12) and the principle of Overflow (Chapter 19). Think of the widow in 2 Kings 4. She thought she only had a little jar of oil: just enough for one last meal. But when she began to pour, the oil didn't stop until there were no more jars to fill. The limit wasn't the oil; the limit was the capacity she provided for the oil.

To live a life of miracles, you must break agreement with scarcity. You must declare that God's resources are infinite and that He is leaning toward you with a heart of "much more." When you shift your mindset, align your actions with generosity, and trust His timing, you will find that the overflow is already available. You just have to step into it.

The Supernatural Birthright

If you’ve ever felt like the supernatural life "wasn't for you," I want you to hear this clearly: You were born again for more than "normal."

In the Assemblies of God tradition, we emphasize the baptism in the Holy Spirit and the ongoing work of the Spirit in the life of the believer. This isn't just about a one-time experience; it's about being "clothed with power from on high" (Luke 24:49) so that we can fulfill the Great Commission.

You don't need a title, a microphone, or a stage to be used by God. You carry the same Spirit that raised Christ from the dead. That Spirit lives in you while you are doing laundry, while you are sitting in a boardroom, and while you are standing in line at the post office. The "signs" follow those who believe wherever they go.

Practical Steps to Daily Expectancy

How do we practically sustain this life of miracles? It comes down to three daily rhythms:

  1. Bold Faith in the Unseen: Stop praying "safe" prayers. If you only pray for things you can accomplish yourself, you don't need faith. Start asking God for the impossible. Pray for the "terminal" diagnosis to be reversed. Pray for the "prodigal" child to come home today. Pray for the "dead" business to live again.

  2. Daily Expectation of Divine Encounters: Every morning, before your feet hit the floor, say this: "Holy Spirit, I am your witness today. Lead me to someone who needs a miracle." When you live with this expectation, your eyes are opened to the needs around you, and you become the vessel through which heaven invades earth.

  3. Quick Obedience to Spiritual Promptings: Miracles often hide behind a simple instruction. "Go talk to that person." "Give that $20 away." "Write that letter." If you wait until you feel "anointed" or until it makes logical sense, you’ll miss the moment. Quick obedience is the fuse that ignites the miraculous.

The Journey of Light: Looking Back

As we conclude this book, I want you to look back at the winding path of your life. Every trial you've faced, every "setback" you've overcome (Chapter 7), and every season of persistence (Chapter 13) has been illuminated by the light of God's presence.

When you look through the lens of the Miracle Mindset, you realize that the path wasn't just a series of random events. It was a journey of light. God was there in the valley of shadow. He was there in the fire. He was there when you thought you couldn't take another step.

The greatest miracle isn't just the blind eyes seeing or the deaf ears hearing: though we celebrate those. The greatest miracle is a heart that has been transformed by the grace of Jesus Christ. It is a life that has moved from darkness to light, from fear to faith, and from scarcity to abundance.

The Grand Finale: A Legacy of Miracles

We are living in the "grand finale" of history. The Bible tells us that in the last days, God will pour out His Spirit on all flesh (Joel 2:28). We are seeing a global movement of God where people from every nation and every tongue are experiencing the supernatural power of the Gospel.

Your life is a part of that story. You are not just a spectator; you are a participant. Your legacy won't be measured by your bank account or your social status. It will be measured by the people you pointed toward Jesus, the lives that were healed through your prayers, and the faith you ignited in the next generation.

Final Reflection & Activation

Before you close this book and return to your day-to-day life, pause for a moment. Reflect on these questions:

  • What miracle have you stopped believing for? Ask God to reignite your faith today.

  • Who in your life needs a miracle right now? Be bold: reach out and offer to pray for them.

  • Where have you been resisting the Holy Spirit's prompting? Ask for the courage to act in obedience.

You were never meant to live an ordinary, limited, or powerless life. You were made to carry His power. You were designed to live in the overflow.

Start today. Expect miracles. Walk boldly. And let heaven invade earth: through you.
