"Like arrows in the hand of a warrior, so are the children of one's youth." , Psalm 127:4 (NKJV)
We’ve reached it. After nineteen chapters of digging through the trenches of identity, wrestling with the complexities of culture, and building a foundation of biblical wisdom, we stand at the threshold. This is the moment every parent both longs for and dreads: the moment of release.
In the ancient world, a warrior didn’t make arrows just to keep them in a quiver. They weren't decorative items meant to look pretty on a shelf. Arrows were crafted for a trajectory. They were designed to leave the bow, pierce the darkness, and strike a target that the warrior himself might never reach.
This final study guide is designed to help you process the entire "Raising Giants" journey. We aren't just finishing a book; we are commissioning a legacy. We are preparing to send giants into a world that desperately needs them.
Reflecting on the 20-Chapter Journey
Before we look forward, we must look back. To raise a giant, you have to be intentional about every stage of the "fletching" process. Over the course of this study, we have covered twenty vital pillars of development. Each chapter was a layer of strength added to the "shaft" of your child's character.

The 20 Pillars Recap:
The Foundation of Truth: Establishing that God's Word is the ultimate authority.
Identity in Christ: Moving beyond "what I do" to "Whose I am."
The Power of Prayer: Teaching children to communicate with the Creator.
Emotional Intelligence: Healing the heart and managing the soul.
Biblical Masculinity/Femininity: Understanding God’s design for gender.
Cultural Discernment: Learning to see the world through a biblical lens.
The Discipline of Worship: Making God the center of everything.
Integrity in Secret: Building character when no one is looking.
Resilience in Trial: Learning that "giants" are defeated through struggle.
The Gift of Community: The importance of the Church and the body of Christ.
Stewardship of Talent: Using God-given gifts for His glory.
The Battle for Purity: Navigating a pornified world with a clean heart.
Financial Wisdom: Understanding that everything belongs to God.
Courageous Leadership: Standing alone when the crowd is wrong.
Servanthood: Finding greatness through humility.
The Great Commission: Living with a heart for the lost.
Intellectual Faith: Loving God with all of the mind (Apologetics).
The Role of the Holy Spirit: Walking in power and spiritual gifts.
Conflict Resolution: Living in peace and pursuing reconciliation.
The Legacy: Sending giants into the world.
Reflection Question:Which of these twenty pillars has been the most challenging for you to implement? Which one has shown the most immediate fruit in your child's life?
The Theology of the Arrow (Deep Dive into Psalm 127:4)
When Solomon wrote Psalm 127, he was likely reflecting on the vanity of building things without God. "Unless the Lord builds the house, they labor in vain who build it." But then he pivots to children. He describes them as a heritage, a reward, and specifically, as arrows.
In the Assemblies of God tradition, we emphasize the missional nature of the family. We aren't just survivors; we are an army. Your home is a "garrison" where warriors are trained.
1. The Hands of a Warrior
Notice that the arrows are in the hands of a warrior. This implies that the parent is actively engaged in a battle. You cannot raise a giant if you are a pacifist in the spiritual realm. To send an arrow well, the warrior must have:
Strength: The spiritual maturity to pull back the bowstring.
Focus: A clear vision of the target.
Stability: A life grounded in the Spirit so the aim doesn't waver.
2. The Children of One's Youth
There is a specific season for this fletching. While we never stop being parents, there is a "window of development" where the arrow is most pliable. The wood is being shaped, the feathers are being attached, and the tip is being sharpened.
3. The Target
What is the target? It isn't just "success" in the worldly sense. It isn't a high-paying job or a comfortable life. The target is the Glory of God and the Advancement of His Kingdom. If your child becomes a CEO but doesn't love Jesus, the arrow has missed the mark. If your child becomes a world-class athlete but has no spiritual fruit, the arrow was misfired.
The Anatomy of a Kingdom Arrow
To ensure our children strike the right target, we must understand how they are constructed. A broken arrow cannot fly straight, no matter how strong the warrior.

The Point (Truth): This is the "business end" of the arrow. It is the biblical worldview that pierces through cultural lies. Without a sharp point of Truth, the arrow just bounces off the world.
The Shaft (Character): This is the core of the arrow. It must be straight. If there is a "kink" of hypocrisy or a "bend" of compromise in the child's character, the arrow will spiral out of control. We spend 18+ years straightening this shaft through discipline and discipleship.
The Fletching (Guidance): The feathers at the back provide stability. In spiritual terms, this is the Holy Spirit and the counsel of the godly community. It’s what keeps the arrow from wobbling when the winds of culture blow hard.
The Nock (Foundation): This is the notch where the arrow meets the bowstring. It represents the child's connection to the home and the local church. If the nock is broken, the arrow can't receive the power of the bow.
Group Discussion:How are you currently "sharpening the point" of truth in your child’s life? Is there a "bend" in the shaft of their character that needs extra attention right now?
The Moment of Release: Sending Them Out
Release is the hardest part of parenting. We spend our lives protecting them, but the purpose of an arrow is to be released.
There comes a point where the tension on the bowstring is at its maximum. The warrior’s muscles are shaking. The target is in sight. And then, the fingers open.
Sending a "giant" into the world means:
Trusting the Craftsmanship: You have to trust that the Word of God you’ve sown is enough.
Trusting the Wind: You have to trust the Holy Spirit (the Pneuma, or breath/wind of God) to carry them where you cannot follow.
Trusting the Archer: Ultimately, God is the Great Archer. You are just a steward of His arrows.
Many parents hold onto the arrow for too long out of fear. They never let go because they are afraid the arrow will break. But an arrow that is never shot never fulfills its purpose.
Application Step:Identify one area where you are "over-protecting" your child in a way that prevents them from developing their own spiritual muscles. What would a "controlled release" look like in that area?
The Legacy Letter: A Practical Activity
One of the most powerful things you can do as you conclude this "Raising Giants" journey is to write a Legacy Letter. This is a document that bridges the present with the future. It is a physical "fletching" that stays with the arrow long after it has left your hand.

How to Write Your Legacy Letter:
The "Why": Start by telling them why you chose to raise them the way you did. Explain the "Raising Giants" philosophy. Tell them that they were never meant to be "normal", they were meant to be extraordinary for the Kingdom.
The "Who": Reiterate their identity. Remind them of their name’s meaning, the prophecies spoken over them, and their standing in Christ.
The "How": Give them 3-5 "Non-Negotiables" for life. These are the "Pillars" you want them to never forget. (e.g., "Always find a local church," "Never stop reading the Word," "Protect your purity at all costs.")
The "Blessing": Speak a formal blessing over them. In the Bible, the patriarchal blessing was a legal and spiritual turning point.
The "Promise": Let them know that while the arrow has been released, the "quiver" (home) is always a place of refuge if they need to be repaired or sharpened again.
Set aside 60 minutes this week. Get a nice piece of stationary. Pray. And write from your heart. This may be the most important thing you ever give them.
Multi-Generational Thinking: The Long View
We often think in terms of years, but God thinks in terms of generations. When you raise a giant, you aren't just raising one child; you are affecting your great-great-grandchildren.

In the Assemblies of God, we talk about "passing the torch." But it’s more than a torch, it’s a trajectory. When you send your child out as a "giant-slayer," they will one day stand as the "warrior" for their own children.
Your legacy isn't your bank account. It isn't your house. It isn't your career. Your legacy is the spiritual health of the people who come after you.
Scripture Meditation:“One generation shall praise Your works to another, and shall declare Your mighty acts.” , Psalm 145:4
A Final Commissioning Prayer for Parents
As you finish this chapter, stand in your home, perhaps in your child’s doorway while they sleep, or at the kitchen table where you've had so many hard conversations. Pray this prayer out loud.
"Heavenly Father, I thank You for the gift of these 'arrows.' I recognize today that they are not mine; they are Yours. You have entrusted them to me for a season to shape, to sharpen, and to aim.
Lord, I repent for the times I have aimed them at the wrong targets, at my own vanity, at worldly success, or at my own comfort. Today, I realign my bow. I point my children toward Your Cross, Your Kingdom, and Your Glory.
I ask for the strength of the Holy Spirit to pull back the string. I ask for the wisdom to know the moment of release. I pray that as these 'giants' go into the schools, the workplaces, and the nations, they would walk in the power of the Spirit.
May they be bold when others are silent. May they be pure when others are compromised. May they be giants of faith who lead others to Jesus Christ.
Bless our home. May our legacy be one of faithfulness, and may I one day stand before You and say, 'Here am I and the children whom the Lord has given me.'
In the mighty name of Jesus, Amen."
The Journey Continues
Raising giants is not a 20-chapter project; it is a lifetime commitment. But you are not alone. The same God who called you to parenthood is the One who will sustain you in it.
You have the tools. You have the Word. You have the Spirit.
Now... release the arrow.
The Zinger:If you were to die today, would the trajectory you’ve set for your children lead them straight to the heart of God, or would they have to find their own way through the woods?
