What does it mean to walk in God's favor?
Walking in God’s favor means living in a state of divine approval where God’s presence opens doors, grants wisdom, and provides resources that human effort alone cannot achieve. It is the natural byproduct of a heart aligned with His will and a life lived in active obedience, especially for leaders navigating the complexities of the modern marketplace.
Before we dive deep into how you can unlock this divine overflow in your own life and leadership, make sure you are staying connected with our community. Our weekly newsletter is designed to help you find your True North through practical faith and leadership insights.

The Heart of Favor: Willingness and Obedience
When we talk about favor, it’s easy to think of it as a "lucky break" or a random act of kindness from the universe. But in the Kingdom of God, favor is deeply connected to the posture of our hearts. Isaiah 1:19 gives us the master key: "If you are willing and obedient, you shall eat the good of the land."
Notice that God doesn't start with your skills or your bank account. He starts with your willingness. For the marketplace leader, this means having a heart that says "yes" to God’s principles before you even see the ROI. It’s the internal commitment to follow His lead, even when the spreadsheet says otherwise.
Breaking the Barriers to Blessing
Many of us hit a ceiling in our professional growth not because we aren't working hard enough, but because we are trying to manufacture favor through human effort. Real favor, divine favor, is what happens when God puts His "heavy" on your "light." It’s the difference between grinding for results and flowing in fruitfulness.
The barrier to favor is often found in the gap between our "willingness" and our "obedience." You might be willing to be a person of integrity, but are you obedient when it comes to that difficult conversation with a client? You might be willing to be generous, but are you obedient when God prompts you to mentor a struggling junior employee?
Favor in the Marketplace: More Than Just Profit
In leadership, walking in favor looks like:
Divine Wisdom: Having clarity in complex decisions that leave others confused.
Relational Integrity: Building a reputation for trust that opens doors no marketing budget could ever buy.
Resilience: The ability to stay grounded and peaceful when the industry is in a tailspin.
Provision: Seeing resources arrive exactly when they are needed to fulfill a purpose-driven mission.
Favor is not about avoiding the storm; it’s about having the Master of the storm in your boat. It’s knowing that because you are a child of God, you are never leading alone.
The Miracle Mindset: Walking in Divine Overflow
In my book Miracle Mindset, specifically Chapter 18, I talk about walking in divine favor as a lifestyle, not an event. It’s about shifting your mindset from "scarcity" to "abundance." Scarcity says there isn't enough, so I have to grab and hoard. Abundance says my Father owns the cattle on a thousand hills, so I can lead with open hands.
When you lead from a place of favor, you stop competing and start contributing. You realize that your "true north" isn't a title or a salary; it's the purpose God has placed in your heart.
Life-Changing Perspective: You Are Seen
You are a priceless child of God, and He is more interested in your growth than your comfort. If you are feeling "stuck" today, take a moment to evaluate your alignment. God’s favor is not a reward for perfection; it is a gift for the faithful. He sees your late nights, your difficult decisions, and your silent prayers. When you align your heart with His, you don't have to chase blessing, blessing will chase you. Your story is not over, and God still has a massive purpose for your leadership.
