The Economic Pulse
Global oil prices reached a staggering $112 per barrel this evening as the continued closure of the Strait of Hormuz and recent strikes on Gulf energy infrastructure triggered fresh anxiety across international markets. This 15% surge in a single week is already impacting family budgets, with analysts predicting that gasoline and heating costs could reach historic highs if the Tuesday deadline passes without a resolution.
The current crisis was exacerbated by Iranian drone strikes on oil storage facilities in Kuwait and Abu Dhabi, as well as Israeli precision strikes on Iranian petrochemical plants. This "war on energy" has left the world's most critical shipping lane in a state of paralysis, forcing tankers to take long and costly detours around the Cape of Good Hope.
Context and Resilience
Biblical Discernment:“She considers a field and buys it; with the fruit of her hands she plants a vineyard.” (Proverbs 31:16).
In the Pentecostal tradition, we are called to be both faithful and industrious. While the numbers on the gas pump may cause anxiety, we are reminded that our ultimate "storehouse" is not controlled by a cartel or a conflict. We view this economic pressure as a call to wise stewardship—not just of our money, but of our peace. We refuse to let the cost of living steal the joy of living.

Our Eternal Source
The Eternal Promise:“The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want.” (Psalm 23:1)
Even as the price of oil rises, the value of God’s grace remains unchanged. We can walk through these days with heads held high, knowing that the Father who feeds the sparrows is fully aware of the needs of His children.
Calm Next Step
Serve: Look for ways to help those in your community who are hit hardest by rising costs. Offer a ride, share a meal, or help a neighbor with their groceries. Stewardship is most powerful when it is shared.
